Salamander

Thanks to its cylindrical inner shape the Salamander provides space to accommodate cameras of 29 x 47mm to 40 x 40mm cross section. The series is available in four lengths and adapts so easily to the total length of camera, lens and plugs. Optionally, it can be further expanded with a housing extension. In addition to various installation kits for mounting and adjustment, a range of accessories is available, that e.g. allows for use in dirty, hot or cold environments.

Colibri

The Colibri housing is suitable for small cameras with 29 x 29mm or 30 x 30mm cross section and lenses up to 39mm diameter. With just 50 x 50mm (w x h) and 181mm, or 211mm overall length is only slightly larger than the protected camera with lens and port. The Colibri is the ideal solution for space- and cost-critical applications where the comprehensive accessories of Salamander enclosures are not required.

Orca

The IP67 Orca enclosure series offers protection for larger cameras of up to 62 x 62mm cross section. Smaller cameras also fit into the Orca with special adapter plates, if a large ring light or lens requires more room. It is available in three standard length with different rear walls and front lids. Equipped with the larger 3” window and 65mm aperture diameter it is possible to use wide-angle lenses without obstruction. Even fish-eye lenses with more than 180° viewing angle can be used with the dome lid.

Gecko

On the outside, the Gecko enclosure features the same dimensions as the Salamander. Due to the thinner wall however it offers slightly more room for cameras that just do not fit into the Salamander range. The Gecko is currently used for Vision Components VC4XXX and the Flir ax5 thermal imaging cameras (with Germanium windows). The Gecko is available with rear wall A, B or C as well. The Gecko is also compatible to autoVimation's Machine-Vision Construction Kit, based on dovetail profiles and mounting brackets.

Nautilus

Originally developed for under-water TV productions, the new IP68 Nautilus has been improved even further. The purpose developed conduit system protects the critical cable entry point from leaks by shielding the cables completely from the water. According to EN 60529 the Nautilus can be used for up to 10 hours down to 10m depth of water.

Megaladon

The housing can be used for all cameras with a 62x62mm cross section and, depending on the corner radius, also for larger types. A special double window with germanium and glass is available as an accessory for the Flir A400 / 700. This opens up the possibility of using IR and optical cameras at the same time.

Chameleon       

The housing series offers protection for cameras with a sideways viewing direction. The Chameleon S series is available with or without lens tube. This allows the use of cameras with compact C-mount lenses. Inbuilt LEDs can usually be used if the distance to the front window is not too large. autoVimation now also offers a version made of surgical stainless steel for increases hygiene and corrosion resistance.

Mammoth

The Mammoth enclosure protects large MV-cameras of up to 90 x 150mm cross section, for instance larger line scan or thermal cameras. It is available with 180, 250 and 300mm internal length. As with other dovetail enclosures, the camera mounts in any position so the front lens can always be placed right behind the front window. Dovetail adapters on two enclosure sides make the Mammoth compatible to autoVimation's Machine-Vision Construction Kit.

Turtle

If cameras are used under ambient temperatures of about 45°C, active cooling will be usually required. The Turtle series is particularly suitable for outdoor applications,  These enclosures have been used successfully for years now in the worlds hottest deserts. The Peltier controller permanently monitors the camera temperature and automatically switches between cooling and heating operation according to the set temperature levels.
